POLYPROPYLENE | Garanti Plastik

Polyprobylene, Is a thermoplastic polymer with a wide range of applications from parts used in the
automotive industry to textile and food packaging. Polypropylene obtained by polymerization is extremely resistant to chemical solvents. Polypropylene is very resistant to fatigue. It is low cost and has a good impact durability. The coefficient of friction is low and provides very good electrical insulation, chemical resistance is good. Suitable for all thermoplastic processing processes. The melting temperature of polypropylene is between 130 and 171 ° C.

There are 3 types of polypropylene raw materials ;

  1. Polypropylene Homopolymer: Produced only from propylene molecules.  It is very soft, since there is no ethylene additive. Used in the production of things like bags, nylon bags.
  2. Polypropylene BlocoCopolymer: The raw material is up to 3% of ethylene. It is not very resistant to warmth. Can only be used in the manufacture of plastic pipes which can be used in cold water transmission lines.
  3. Polypropylene Random Copolymer: Ethylene is a raw material with a percent of 3-7%. Can be used safely in places where very high temperature and pressure resistance are required.
